Poster Print FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I have a favorite photo I want to have printed BIG. Can you help me do it?

A: Yes! E-mail us or call, and can give you a quote. To print most images bigger than 8" x 10", they need to be enhanced and enlarged with the special techniques we use on our own images. You would need to provide an original camera file that has NOT been processed or recompressed. RAW files are best, high quality JPEGS are OK. I can look at your photo and evaluate it free of charge. Services include color correction, sharpening, and retouching.

Q: Are these prints of high quality?

A: Of course! We would never sell anything we would not buy ourselves. Each photo/print is an original digital image from our Canon cameras and are specially processed to look clean, colorful and sharp at large print sizes.

Q: Are these prints inkjet or Giclee's?

A: All prints are currently printed using a digital photo printing process on a Durst Theta printer. This machine produces high resolution continuous tone images using a photographic process on Fuji Crystal Archive photo paper. They are NOT inkjet prints. They are also called digital "C" prints.

Q: How long will they last without fading?

A: The Fuji paper is rated to 80 years of stability if displayed under glass and out of sunlight. As long as a print does not get blasted by sunlight, the color will last your lifetime.

Q: How are the posters/prints shipped?

A: Small sizes are shipped flat, larger posters are shipped in sturdy mailing tubes to prevent damage.

Q: How long does it take to receive my print once I order it?

A: We don't stock prints, they are printed on demand, and this takes about a week. Once we get the print, it ships out either by US first class or Priority Mail which takes 2-7 business days. International mailing times are 5-14 days on average.

Q: What if I don't like my print or it was damaged in shipping?

A: We offer a 30 day guarantee on all products. Damaged items will be replaced.

Q: My print will not lay flat after I got it out of the mailing tube. What should I do?

A: Rolled prints will flatten out if left on a flat surface. Pressing it carefully between heavy flat objects can speed the process. but make sure to protect the image side of the print.

Q: Do you offer framing and mounting?

A: No, sorry. Shipping framed prints is too expensive and detailed for us to handle. I suggest visiting your local frame shop or purchasing a frame kit from your local craft or art store. If you're cheap like me, use tacks, poster putty, or double sided tape, though these methods might damage the print.

Q: Can I clean my prints?

A: Most dust or finger prints can be buffed off with a soft cotton or microfiber cloth. Never use water, solvents, or cleaners, they will ruin the finish.
