These prints are duplicated from an aviation anthology first printed around 1932, the images are now out of copyright, so I am making version available to you. The original stone lithograph prints were scanned at high resolution and extensively restored to retain the original beauty for larger photo prints. The images have a lot of natural grain and contrast, and some photos have captions added in period type faces to add to the vintage feel. These images are very rare, and it is so nice that they can be enjoyed again.
This photo shows famous pilot Gunther Groenhoff bungee-launching the Fanir glider from the top of the Wasserkuppe in Germany sometime in 1931. You can see the bungee and the silluettes of the lauch crew. Groenhoff set many records in the Fafnir flying from various location in Germany and Switzerland. The Fafnir later crashed in 1932 in a launching accident, killing Gunther.
You can buy this image in a variety of print sizes from standard 8" x 10" up to 30" x 40", though I do recommend the larger print sizes, they look amazing and are really the best deal. Bigger IS better!
